about this here dingus
first off I just want to say that any and all allegations that I am some kind of human are false, misleading, and defamatory. I am a kitty cat, got it? a proud member of felis catus, thank you very much. meow. okay cool glad we could get that out of the way.
okay but really,
it's not always simple to categorize a single person (of the feline persuasion or otherwise) in just a few words, but in a vain attempt to do so, this here dingus currently screaming across the void at you is a lesbian transfemme anarcho-commie who has grown increasingly sick and tired of the failures of our miserable capitalist society, and in specific, its obsession with online engagement and enshittification and increasing monetization that reduces the internet down to a bunch of algorithmically curated feeds and advertisements and microtransactions, which is why you find me here on the indie web trying to rekindle that beautiful glimmer of 90s internet nostalgia.
now obviously, this is only one of my many many gripes with that most reviled economic model; its disastrous impacts on the global climate, geopolitics, and so many other aspects of our lives is hardly below my notice, but for our purposes I wanted to highlight how it has fucked up our communities and connections with each other. the internet is one of our most powerful collective tools, and I think we all deserve to use it without our personal information being sold off to advertisers or our genuine expressions of creativity getting scraped by AI complicated stealing machines that at best confabulate bullshit into something halfway familiar. fuck that shit.
arriving at the point,
ultimately I'm here to enjoy myself and claw back a little sanity from the world. I want to share art, writing, things I find cool or interesting, or just long meandering trains of thought, like the one you presumably just had to trudge through to get down to this part. sorry about that! ideally I can make up for this heap of nonsense and bitterness with a tiny corner of the internet that one might be pleased to stumble upon. at the end of the day I just want to make people happy, to enrich the world in tiny ways, because sometimes that is all we have the power to do, and I'm just one terribly exhausted dumbass housecat with a laptop and an internet connection.
